Whether you're one of those die-hard Jeepers, a 4x4 fan, or just love hanging out with the off road enthusiasts community, there's nothing like a great event to fuel the passion.
We've done your homework for you (lucky you!) and rounded up the absolute best off-roading events happening across America in 2025.
King of the Hammers
Johnson Valley, CA | February 2-10, 2025
Best for: Hardcore enthusiasts who want to witness the ultimate test of machine and driver
The year always kicks off with King of the Hammers – and there’s a reason why. This legendary event turns the Johnson Valley, California's public lands into “Hammertown” – a temporary “city” of over 100,000 off-road fanatics gathered to witness absolute madness on wheels.
KOH is the best of high-speed desert racing and technical rock crawling you’ll probably see all year. The main event pits drivers against 200+ miles of brutal desert and seemingly impassable rock gardens – all while racing against the clock and each other.
What makes KOH unique isn’t just the insane action – it’s the community. Everyone from professional teams with million-dollar rigs to weekend warriors camps out in the desert - sharing stories around campfires and forming bonds that last a lifetime. The vendor area is a gear-head’s dream – and it’s the best place to stock up for the year.
Where to get tickets: Head online for event schedules , spectator information, and camping details. Tickets start at around $80 for the week, with camping packages available.
The Mint 400
Las Vegas, NV | March 5-9, 2025
Best for: Off-road racing fans looking for high-octane desert action and Vegas entertainment
Just after King of the Hammers is the “The Great American Off-Road Race” – The Mint 400.
This is one of the year’s iconic events that’s been around since 1968. The Mint 400 is a staple in the off road racing calendar, drawing competitors and fans from all parts of the globe.
Unlike some desert races where you might catch a glimpse of vehicles blasting by, The Mint 400 features dedicated spectator areas where you can witness the action up close. Plus, the event kicks off with a vehicle parade down the Las Vegas Strip!
The two-day festival in downtown Las Vegas features a massive contingency row where you can check out race vehicles up close and meet the teams.
Ready to experience The Mint 400? Visit themint400.com for tickets and spectator information. General admission starts around $25 – and you can grab VIP packages as well for the ultimate fan experience in Sin City.
SNORE King Shocks Battle at Primm
Primm, NV | April 3-6, 2025
Best for: Desert racing enthusiasts who want an accessible, action-packed event close to Las Vegas
Another one in Nevada – this one about 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip – is the King Shocks Battle at Primm.
Organized by the Southern Nevada Off Road Enthusiasts (SNORE), this long-running event has earned its reputation as one of the most competitor and spectator-friendly desert races in the southwest.
This one’s special for its multi-loop format that keeps the action concentrated in a relatively compact area. Unlike point-to-point desert races, where spectators might wait hours to see vehicles pass once, this race format allows you to witness the competition multiple times as racers complete several laps on the challenging course.
The event showcases everything from nimble Class 10 buggies to thundering Trophy Trucks – and the nearby Primm Valley Casino Resorts offer comfortable accommodations just minutes from the race course. If you can’t make it to the Mint 400, make sure to add this one to your list for 2025.
Ready to experience desert racing up close? Visit snoreracing.net for spectator information, course maps, and event schedules. While registration is primarily for competitors, spectating is free for most areas!
Easter Jeep Safari
Moab, UT | April 12-20, 2025
Best for: Jeep owners and rock-crawling enthusiasts seeking iconic red rock adventures
If there’s a pilgrimage every Jeep owner should make at least once, it’s Easter Jeep Safari in the off-road mecca of Moab, Utah.
2025 marks the 59th year of the Easter Jeep Safari, welcoming thousands of Jeepers to town to tackle some of the most iconic trails in Utah’s red rock country.
Unlike the racing-focused events on our list, EJS is all about trail riding. With over 40 organized trail rides ranging from scenic cruises to white-knuckle rock crawling challenges like Hell’s Revenge and Metal Masher, there’s plenty to try.
Our pro tip? The vendor expo in downtown Moab is a must-visit. Jeep and similar manufacturers often unveil concept vehicles and new products – and you can browse hundreds of aftermarket companies as well.
Want to join the Jeep tribe in Moab? Head to rr4w.com for registration details and trail information. While the organized trail runs require registration (typically $50-$60 per vehicle per trail), the vendor expo is free to attend. Book your accommodations well in advance – Moab fills up quickly during EJS!
CFMoto Takeover
Fulton, MS | May 15-18, 2025
Best for: SXS enthusiasts looking for Southern hospitality and trail adventures
The CFMoto Takeover in Fulton, Mississippi, brings together UTV enthusiasts for four days of riding, racing, and Southern-style camaraderie. This event is newer to the scene than some other events, but it has quickly built up a reputation for its atmosphere and excellent trail system.
You can hook up with guided group trail runs through different terrain in the area – from wooded paths to creek crossings and technical challenges. The event also features a bunch of competitions, including obstacle courses and drag races, but maintains a laid-back vibe that keeps the focus on fun rather than fierce competition.
One of the highlights is the evening activities, with live music, Southern barbecue, and plenty of stories shared around campfires. The vendor area showcases the latest CFMoto models alongside aftermarket accessories and apparel (including our Goats Trail gear designed specifically for SXS riders !).
Want to experience Southern off-roading at its finest? Tickets are already sold out – but you might be able to find some on the aftermarket. Clearly, this one’s already starting to become popular!
UTV Takeover in Coos Bay
Coos Bay, OR | June 25-30, 2025
Best for: UTV/SXS riders looking for family-friendly dune adventures
If Easter is for Jeeps in Moab, then summer kicks off with UTVs in Oregon. This 6-day festival has quickly become the West Coast’s best UTV event, featuring over 40 miles of rideable dunes and 30+ activities for off-road families.
The event features a little something for everyone – high-flying action at the UTV Huckfest competition (where brave drivers send their machines off massive jumps) to the technical challenge of hillfest climbs. The nighttime light show rides are one of our favorites, where hundreds of UTVs gather to create a moving light display across the dunes after dark.
Best of all, UTV Takeover is surprisingly kid-friendly! Kids 12 and under get in free, and activities are available that are built with younger riders in mind. You can hit the vendor market in the day and spend the evening around bonfires that give UTV Takeover a real festival vibe.
Ready for dune adventures? Check out utvtakeover.com/coos-bay-or for tickets and event details. General admission wristbands are just $50 for all six days, and camping options range from basic spots to full hookups at nearby campgrounds.
4-Wheel Jamboree
Danville, IN | September 19-21, 2025
Best for: 4x4 truck enthusiasts who enjoy competition and vendor showcases
Now for one you’re likely familiar with – especially if you’ve followed up for a while. The 44th Annual Fall 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals is coming up in September – and it’s the Midwest's biggest celebration of 4x4 culture.
This three-day event transforms the city into the place to be for truck enthusiasts, bringing together high-energy competitions with one of the largest off-road vendor showcases of the year.
You won’t want to miss the mud bog racing, tough truck challenges, monster truck demonstrations – plus the burnout contests that are always a hit. You can also check out meticulously built show trucks or everyone’s favorite mud-slinging monsters pushing their limits in competition.
The big hit of the Jamboree is the Performance Marketplace, where you can check out hundreds of vendors offering show-only pricing on the latest parts, accessories, and apparel. The Show-N-Shine competition displays some of the country's finest custom 4x4s, from mild to wild.
Don’t wait to get tickets for this one. Head to 4wheeljamboree.com for tickets and event information. The indoor/outdoor venue makes this a great event regardless of the weather, and nearby Indianapolis offers plenty of accommodation options for every budget.

Best for: Overlanding enthusiasts interested in equipment, education, and community
As the overlanding movement continues to grow, Overland Expo East has established itself as the premier East Coast gathering for those who live for long-distance backcountry travel.
Unlike pure off-road events that lean toward pushing the limits on the rigs, the Overland Expo is big on the journey and the lifestyle. Hundreds of classes and demonstrations will cover everything from off-road driving techniques to camp cooking, vehicle recovery, and wilderness medicine. The instructors include world travelers who have crossed continents in their rigs and have countless stories to share.
The vendor area showcases purpose-built overland vehicles and trailers alongside innovative camping gear, storage solutions, and navigation tools. It's a gearhead's paradise with a practical focus – everything you see can help make your adventures more comfortable and capable.
