The 2025 Rebelle Rally Is Coming – Are You?

Rebelle Rally

Rebelle Rally is a World-Class Off-Road Competition

The 2025 Rebelle Rally is coming up – one of the best ways to digital detox we can think of. We’re talking about eight days of pure navigation challenge across 2,500 kilometers of unforgiving desert.

The best part? You’re going old school – so bring your maps, compass, and that determination that proves skill beats technology every time.

This October marks the 10th anniversary of America's longest all-women's off-road navigation rally, and it's shaping up to be the most challenging yet. The only question is, are you coming?

What Makes the Rebelle Rally Different

The Rebelle isn't a race in the traditional sense. Instead, we like to think of it as more of a navigation challenge where precision matters more than speed.

Teams wake up each morning at basecamps and plot out the day’s course using paper maps. They then spend the day hunting for checkpoints across some pretty brutal terrain.

Some checkpoints are visible markers; others are "blind" checkpoints that require exact navigation to find.

For instance, you might spend an hour carefully plotting coordinates only to realize you're in the wrong wash. Or you may nail a difficult checkpoint that other teams miss entirely.

There’s something magical (and often frustrating) about getting back to the old pre-GPS days.

When you can't just follow a line on a screen, you start paying attention to terrain features, counting track intersections. You’re using the landscape itself as your map – a skill many of us have completely lost!

The Vehicles and Classes

One thing we really appreciate about the Rebelle: it's a run-what-you-brung event

Vehicles must be completely stock and street-legal. That means no lift kits, no special tires, no modifications beyond basic safety equipment.

4x4 Class includes traditional body-on-frame vehicles:

  • Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma

  • Jeep Wrangler, Gladiator

  • Chevrolet Colorado, Silverado

  • Ford Bronco, Ranger

X-Cross Class is for crossovers and unibody vehicles:

  • Honda Ridgeline, Passport

  • Subaru Outback, Crosstrek

  • Toyota RAV4, Highlander

  • Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee

The crossover class is particularly interesting because it proves you don't need a "real" 4x4 to tackle serious terrain. Smart driving and good navigation beat brute force every time.

What to Expect at the Rally

Here's what competitors actually experience:

Morning

You’ll wake up at basecamp (usually around 5:30 AM), make breakfast, and break down camp. Receive the day's roadbook and start plotting checkpoints on your maps. This can take 1-2 hours of careful work.

Daytime

Navigate across varied terrain searching for checkpoints. Some days are 200+ miles of dirt roads and trails. You're constantly calculating distances, checking compass bearings, and making decisions about which routes to attempt.

You’ll face some impressive challenges. You might end up changing tires in soft sand, getting unstuck without help, navigating in dust storms, managing fuel consumption, and staying oriented when every hill looks the same.

Evening

Arrive at the next basecamp, set up camp, cook dinner, and compare notes with other teams. Most are exhausted but exhilarated. The community aspect is huge at the Rally. Everyone helps each other no matter where they are in the competition.

Why We Love The Rebelle Rally

If the Rebelle Rally sounds intense, it’s because it is! And that’s part of why this annual event has become such an important part of of the offroading community.

When we become dependent on constant connectivity, the Rebelle forces you to rely on actual skills. There’s no “quick call for help” when you're lost. You can’t just pull up a YouTube tutorial when something breaks. It’s just your team and whatever problem-solving abilities you've developed (or haven’t!) over the years.

We've talked to several past competitors, and they all say the same thing: it's incredibly hard but equally rewarding.

The women who finish – whether they podium or not – come away with confidence that extends far beyond driving skills. And that’s worth far more than just bragging rights.

Going to Rebelle Rally? Let’s Connect!

This is no joke of an event, so you’ll need to come prepared. That means bringing gear specifically chosen for Rebelle conditions:

  • Base layers that handle 30°F mornings and 95°F afternoons

  • Durable pants that survive crawling under vehicles

  • Sun protection that actually stays on during 12-hour days

  • Limited Rebelle support merchandise

It’s crazy to think that the 2025 rally marks 10 years of the Rebelle. It's only getting stronger. More manufacturers are supporting teams, media coverage is expanding, and the waitlist grows each year.

But at its core, it remains true to the original vision: a challenging, supportive environment where women can test themselves against the desert and their own limits.

If you're even slightly curious about competing, we encourage you to look into it seriously. Yes, it's difficult. But you'll also discover capabilities you didn't know you had and join a community of women who chose the harder path.

So, are you going to be there in October? Let us know, and make sure to visit us online to grab some Goats Trail gear before you hit the rally – and if you are geared up in the desert, snap a few pictures and tag us (when you get back to civilization, that is.)
