Big and Tall Size Guide for Off-Road Apparel
If you've ever climbed out of your rig and felt your shirt ride halfway up your back, you already know why fit matters off-road. Climbing in and out of a lifted truck, reaching for recovery gear and sitting in a bucket seat for hours all put extra demands on a tee or hoodie. Standard sizes just weren't cut for that.
That's why we offer big and tall versions of our officially licensed Toyota, Polaris and Arctic Cat apparel. This guide shows you how to measure yourself, how our big and tall sizes run, and how to pick the right fit the first time.
How to Measure Yourself
Grab a soft measuring tape and a buddy to help. Wear a thin shirt, stand relaxed and keep the tape snug but not tight.
- Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms and across your shoulder blades. Keep it level all the way around.
- Body length: Measure from the highest point of your shoulder (where it meets your neck) straight down to where you want the shirt to end. For trail wear, most guys want it to cover the belt line with room to spare when reaching overhead.
- Sleeve (hoodies and long sleeves): With your arm relaxed at your side, measure from the center back of your neck, over the shoulder, and down to your wrist.
Pro tip: The easiest method is to lay your best-fitting shirt flat and measure it. Measure straight across from armpit to armpit and double it for the chest, then measure from the top of the shoulder to the bottom hem for length. Compare those numbers to our size chart.

Our big and tall tees come in LT, XLT, 2XLT and 3XLT. They're cut from heavyweight 6 oz. 100% cotton in a classic fit, with taped neck and shoulders so they hold their shape wash after wash (Arctic Cat Big and Tall T-shirt). Measurements are taken with the shirt lying flat. Allow about an inch of variance, since cotton can shrink slightly after the first hot wash.
Need more width but not more length? Many of our designs also come in regular sizes up to 5XL. The FJ Cruiser tee, for example, runs S–5XL in standard fit and LT–3XLT in tall.

Fit tips for trail wear
- Size for movement, not the mirror. If you're between sizes and you'll be climbing in and out of a truck or side-by-side all day, size up.
- Plan for layering. If a hoodie or tee will go under a jacket, bibs or a snowmobile suit, a relaxed fit is more comfortable than a snug one.
- Wash cold, hang dry. Cotton can shrink a bit in a hot dryer, which hurts length most. Cold water and low heat keep that tall fit tall.
